Aug 25, 2018 · The night we arrived in Marble, we drove up the Quarry road to the Colorado Yule Marble Quarry, which was renamed the Pride of America Quarry in 2011 when Red Graniti group, out of Carrara, Italy, took over. Drive up road 3C and continue until you hit a dead end at the quarry gate. It's fenced off, security cameras surround you, and to be honest, you can't see too much from the gate.

The town, founded in 1899, is famous for the Yule Marble Quarry loed at an elevation of 9,500ft. The quarry, first discovered in the late 1870's, produces a beautiful, flawless white marble that was used to build the Lincoln Memorial in 1916 and the Tomb of the Unknown Solider in 1931.
